Theodorikakos: “We are changing the production model and boosting the income of all Greeks”

"With the measures announced by the Prime Minister at the TIF, the institution of the family is strengthened, as the tax reduction of two points for everyone is scaled according to the number of children each household has," Mr Theodorikakos stressed.

“We are creating a more productive, more competitive, and more export-oriented economy. We are changing the country’s production model and increasing the disposable income of all Greeks, relying on the responsible policies of recent years and the efforts of society as a whole,” emphasized Development Minister Takis Theodorikakos, speaking today on the show Ora Ellados on OPEN.

“With the measures announced by the Prime Minister at Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), the institution of the family is strengthened, as the two-percentage-point tax reduction for everyone is scaled according to the number of children in each household,” Theodorikakos underlined. “Young people up to 30 years old are particularly supported, as their taxation is significantly reduced,” he added.

He also mentioned the return of one month’s rent each November, combined with the measure reducing taxes for those who rent out property. “This will help everyone be more honest in their declarations,” he said. “We genuinely care for all Greeks, especially the middle class and the most vulnerable,” he noted.

Regarding the establishment of the new Independent Authority for Consumer Protection and Market Supervision, he stated: “We will legislate it in October, and its purpose is to protect all citizens, as everyone will know where to turn to resolve a problem. We are unifying all inspection mechanisms, reinforcing them with 300 additional inspectors and new digital tools, aiming to enforce competition rules, because only this can reduce prices. I ask for the support of all political forces in the country.”

Referring to the return of funds from previous development laws, the Minister of Development stressed: “So far, we have already recovered €66 million from investment projects that were not implemented. Not a single euro goes to waste. Greek taxpayers’ money is returned and goes into new, real investments that bring growth and jobs.”

In closing, Theodorikakos reiterated that there is no issue of changing the electoral law and added: “We have a vision and a plan that we are implementing for all Greeks. The elections will take place in 2027, and then the Greek people will judge us.”
