The first official commitment of her diplomatic term is scheduled for next Tuesday, when she will present her credentials to the President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas

Newsroom November 1 09:03

A reception at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, attended mainly by officials of the US Embassy and representatives of public life, to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US Marine Corps, will be hosted tonight by the new US Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, who arrived in Athens earlier today.

According to reports, the event will include a formal dinner, cocktails and dancing, while guests will be able to choose their preferred menu. Options include beef fillet with red wine and thyme sauce, sea bream fillet with vegetables or roasted cauliflower with coconut sauce and tahini.

This event marks the first, albeit unofficial appearance of the new ambassador in Athens, as the first official obligation of her diplomatic term is scheduled for next Tuesday, November 4, when she will present her credentials to the President of the Republic, Konstantinos Tasoulas, in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace.

She will then hold a meeting with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis.

The mark of her diplomatic tenure is expected to be set later this week at the transatlantic energy forum being held in Athens, which will be attended by US Energy Secretary Chris Wright, US Interior Secretary Doug Bergham and 24 European energy ministers.

The 6th Partnership for Transatlantic Energy Cooperation (P-TEC) Conference, which takes place on November 6 and 7 at the Zappeion Hall, is co-organized by the Department of Environment and Energy, the US Department of Energy and the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center, marking the strengthening of Europe-US cooperation for a secure, sustainable and affordable energy transition.
