The representative participation of farmers from all over Greece and the ending of road blockades are the two conditions set by the government for dialogue, as stated by government spokesperson and Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Pavlos Marinakis during the briefing of political reporters.
“We have never said no to dialogue, and the Prime Minister himself has said that he is available under two conditions and with one clarification. The clarification is that there is no fiscal space or possibility, also under EU rules, for additional measures. Therefore, dialogue is necessary, but there is no margin for further measures. That is the clarification,” the government spokesperson stressed.
He then referred to the two conditions of the government, which he described as “self-evident,” calling for an end to the mobilizations at the road blockades. “The first condition is that the delegation must be representative from all over Greece, and the second condition is that these mobilizations must stop. Dialogue, whether with representatives of the ministries, the minister himself, or the Prime Minister, while this inconvenience to citizens continues, cannot take place under any circumstances. We therefore await, with all good will, a response from those concerned,” he said.
