Meeting between Mitsotakis and the “agro-leaders” of the blockades set for Friday

Earlier, farmers who held an assembly in Palamas, Karditsa said “yes” to a meeting with the prime minister with roads kept open and decided not to hold a rally in Athens

Farmers participating in the nationwide assembly in Palamas, Karditsa agreed to hold talks with the prime minister through a 25-member committee with five observers. At the same time, they decided not to organize a rally in Athens. According to reliable information, the meeting between representatives of the nationwide blockades and Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled for Friday.

During the meeting, the farmers evaluated what Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said yesterday to fellow farmers, in order to determine their stance for the next period.

From the outset, there was a positive climate toward the meeting, with the government requesting that the farmers’ committee consist of 25 members plus five observers. This condition was ultimately accepted, although initially the farmers had requested two committees with 35 representatives.
