The FBI executed a search warrant at a Election precinct in Fulton County, in Georgia, related to the 2020 presidential election, a law enforcement official with knowledge of the case said.
FBI agents were seen entering the county’s polling place and operations center, according to Fox News, which first reported the search at a new facility opened by that state in 2023.
The search is related to the 2020 election, in which Donald Trump was defeated by Democratic candidate Joe Biden, the official said.
Representatives from the Fulton County elections office referred any questions to the county’s external affairs office, which did not respond to a request for comment.
In that county, where the city of Atlanta is located, Biden emerged as the winner by a wide margin, which helped him win the state of Georgia and the US presidency.
Earlier this month, he asked a state court for $6.2 million in damages for legal fees he paid to address criminal charges against him for allegedly interfering with the election process in a case brought against him by prosecutor Fanny Willis.
