The government spokesperson and Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, Pavlos Marinakis, made pointed remarks against those who, as he said, “invest in pain and misery to gain political benefits,” during the briefing of political editors.
“With every tragedy in this country, the usual known–unknown figures, the ‘grave-robbers’ movement, play all their cards,” he said, expressing his condolences to the families of the victims of the tragedies at Violanta and in Romania.
Mr. Marinakis described as a “vulgar lie” the claim that Greece has the highest number of workplace accidents in the world, noting that this claim originates from individuals belonging to what he called the “grave-robbers movement.”
“Greece is the third country with the fewest workplace accidents,” he said, calling on the workers of Violanta to testify about the incident.
