Didymoteicho: Suitable water in 7 settlements, unsuitable in 4; bottled water distribution continues

In the remaining villages the water remains unfit for use

Newsroom February 6 10:52

The results of the laboratory tests carried out on the suitability of water in the ten villages of the Municipality of Didymoteixo where, as it is known, since last Friday, the use of it by residents has been banned.

According to an announcement by the Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Company of Didymoteicho, it was found that in 7 of the 10 villages, the water is now safe and suitable for all uses.

These are the villages of Doxa, Chionades, Vrisi, Asproneri, Vrysika, Yatrades & Saura.

In the remaining villages of Elafochori, Daphne, Sitochori, and Evgeniko, the water remains unfit for use, since, as you mention, increased values were found in certain indicators.

For this reason, DEFAD emptied and disinfected these tanks with sodium hypochlorite, and new samples were taken, the results of which are expected next Monday (9/2).
